Virtual Parliaments, Engaged Citizens
On 8th September, 2020, StateUp hosted Virtual Parliaments, Engaged Citizens, our first webinar as part of the Digital Translators series. The main question for discussion was, “What options are most effective for including citizens’ voices in virtual parliaments?” This webinar was in partnership with UK Parliament and the Bennett Institute for Public Policy, University of Cambridge
Speakers for this webinar included Cristina Leston-Bandeira (Co-Director of the Centre for Democratic Engagement and Chair of the UK Study of Parliament Group), Tiago Peixoto (Senior Public Sector Specialist, World Bank Group), and Miguel Arana Catania (Research Fellow at Warwick University and the Alan Turing Institute; former Director of Madrid’s Citizen Participation project; founding team at Consul).
