How to be a Digital Translator
On 27th October, 2020, StateUp hosted How to be a Digital Translator, our second webinar as part of the Digital Translators series. The discussion shone a light on individuals who have carved out stellar careers at the intersection of government and technology—often serving as a bridge between two worlds—and asked how we can create cohorts of “digital translators” able to lead work, generate ideas, and broker key conversations at this critical juncture.
Speakers for this webinar included Camilla Rygaard-Hjalsted (CEO of Digital Hub Denmark, former diplomat to Silicon Valley), Michael Macdonnell (COO of Sensyne Health, former Global Director of Deployment at Google Health), Ciaran Martin (Professor of Practice at the University of Oxford and former CEO of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre) and Nicola Buckley (Associate Director of the Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge).
Our partner for this webinar was the Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge.
About the StateUp Digital Translators Webinar Series
Too often, the worlds of government and technology can feel disconnected and devoid of a common language. Bridging this gap, the series brings together leading voices at the intersection of government and technology, crafting conversations between entrepreneurs, public servants, researchers and investors interested in digital innovation with public purpose.
