Dr. Eszter Czibor is Head of Research at StateUp. She is shaping an ambitious research agenda for StateUp, both working with clients and partners on core themes in public-purpose technology, innovation policy, and digital governance, and developing our inhouse research strategy.

An applied microeconomist, Eszter’s work aims to inform the design of productive, inclusive and innovative organisations. Over the last 15 years, Eszter has lived and worked in five countries. Eszter was previously a Principal Researcher at Nesta’s Innovation Growth Lab in London, striving to make innovation and business support policy more evidence-based and inclusive. Prior to joining Nesta, she was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago, and obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam. She began her professional life as an intern at the Hungarian National Bank’s Department of Statistics.
